H'lived some eight or ten ninntes after the accident. - i ' The deceased , was af seoiion foreman and itwas his duty to see that the belts were all ' on when 'the mill 'started. When the fatal accident occurred he was putting on a belt with his foot, throwing it on the machine pulley, when his leg became tangled in the belt, and his body was jerked quickly to the ceiling. The limb was' wound around the shafting and torn loose at the hip joint and his body dropped to the floor. The limb.rernained pg the phafting until, the machines . '. were stopped and it was take a off. The machinery below was spattered with blood and a por tion of his bowels were thrown some 20 feet and lodged on another . machine.. 'Shreds of flesh were' scattered and left hanging to machinery several feet in every direction. The "terrible accident occurred within view of a large number of operatives,, but it was all done in a second's time so that no assistance could bo rendered.
