Mr. Baston Revels left this morninc for Wake Foaest where he has secured a position in a cotton mill. Mr. John Heath, who has boon in the city in the interest of the the new store, left for Albemarle this morning. Mr. and Mrs. W G Boshamcr left this mprning for Charlotte where they will spend some time with relatives. Dr. Paul Caldwell, who ha? been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D A Caldwell, has- re turned to New York. Rev. JAB Fry left this morn ing for China Grove, where Mrs. Fry will join him. They will go to Montreat tomorrow to spend two weeks. Mrs. John Wakefield came in this morning from Salisbury, accompanied by. her mother, Mi's. Caudle, who will visit here for several weeks. Mr. end Mrs. John McDonald and litre child left for their home in Charlotte this morning rnorning after visiting Mr. and Mrs. R K Black for several days. Deputy Robinson arrested Frank White and wife of No. 3 township, Wednesday for an af fray. They were convicted and upon payment of their fine were released. Rev. W H Hiller left this morn ing for the meeting of the South ern Conference of the N. C. E. L. Synod which convenes at St. Matthews church today (Thursday.) Mr. D B Castor and family left this morning for an extended rural jauint for a week. They go firsi to Mr. Castor's father's then to Rowan county, visiting relative and friends. This morning as Mr. Ed Par nell was crossing the Southern Railroad track on Wett Corbin street the tap came off his wag on and the rear wheel ran off, falling on the opposite side of the track from the wagon and before the wheel had struck the ground the fast train No. 39 passed. The escape from death of Mr. Parnell and the team was wonderful and goes to show the need of bars for this crossing. Vacation Days. A hearty welcome to the d'elegatesc Mr. Whit Dry Dead. Mr. Whit Pry died at 1:00 a. a. this (Thursday) at his home in ; Mt. Pfeasant, of appendicitis. He had been sick but a fevvays.
