Mrs. M. J. Graham is busy open

grand spring millinery opening.
There are quite .a number ,of
cases of whooping cough in our
sister town, Landis. We are in
formed that five in" one family,
whose names are Bradshaw, are
suffering with disease, and from
one to three in other families have
it, though it is in a mild form.
We learn that it is a settled fact
that there' will- soon be another
cotton mill built at La'ndis by a
etook company. The lumber for
the construction of tenant houses
is being hauled and placed on the
grounds, and -the grounds are be
ing cleared off for the buildings.
The mill will be erected about two
hundred yards south from, where
the present mill now stands and
will be on the tame side of the
railroad. , ! r
John Deal is building a hand
some 6 room cottage in the so uth
ern part of Landis.
Morris Beaver, who lived at
Landis for some time, moved with
his family to Virginia, lasr week,
where they will make, their home.
