Albemarle, July 7. The phy sician in attendance upon the little child of Mrs H A Alcox of. Badin has, pronounced tke. baby beyond danger and says that it will Without doubt recover. It will be recalled that about 10 days agoj&frs. Alcox, the mother of the baby, - administered bic'.l.V-ide with intention, accordinu- .o her own statement, of kibiog tae child, stating at the time that she. was doing this because of the wishes of her husband, who was not the child s father. Mrs. Alcox was immediately arrested and brought to Albemarle jail and a day or two thereafter; Mr. Alcox was arrested and also brought to jail. After the phy -sician in charge pronounced the child out of danger Mrs Alcox was tried and convicted before R h Brown, judge of the. county court, but "no 'sentence as yet has been pronounced on her JTbere being no material evidence a gainst Mr Alcox a nol pros was taken and he was released.
