He was born near Salis bury in 1886 and was married to Miss Lurline Graham of China Grove in 1912. He was a man of excellent character, high in telleotual traits and abilities, one of tbe leading educators of the State. Teaching at Salisbury, Jackson Training School, and for the past five years at Graham. Several days pr.or to his death he resigned the position of su perintendent of the Burlington schools. Surviving Prof Rankin are his wife and two children, his father, mother, one sister and two brothers, besides a host of devoted friends and relatives. Attending the services were many friends and relatives from Salisbury, Graham, Concord, Lexington, Albemarle.Columbia, S C, and Birmingham, Ala. William Key Ramsaur Fesper man, son of Mr and Mrs Wm J Fesperman, near Grace church, died at the home of his parents Saturday morning, June 15, af ter an illness of a little more than a week, at tbe age of 12 years, 9 months and 3 days. On October 14, 1917, he was confirmed a member of Lutheran Chapel church, and has ever been faith f ul in his attendance of the ser vices of the church and Sunday school. As an .evidence of the very high esteem in which he was held by his Sunday school class, the teacher, Mrs. Angie Kimball, and the other members of the clas's sat with the mourn ers during the services.
