ON STREET DANBUKY REPI«ITI ,I ■WE' ' In looking 'over the editorial page of last week's Reporter, we ttml a strong article relative to the ' building of a trolley line, etc. 'We j with this editorial only in ' part. Let's have the trolley line, if, possible, but bymll lyeans tap the j railroad with a£ eotne point in our own county, if U ®nly bo built upJJan R,iver* start "kom Pine Hall,-out fam of thfe opiu i m tligt a line oeuldlje built much cheaper up Mill Creek from this p lint. A*gentleman from Win ston, who is closely allied with the tobacco, .interest, recently stated in my presence that tho prospects ■ for small tubaoco markets was 1 m iro encouraging to-day than at. j any time in the past, for the) reason that the A. T. Co. would put a buyer on any market that could make any reasonable show; and that whir v-T in the Pied mont section this condition existed j the R. J. R. branch of said Co. would also place a buyer, or an ! order with some leaf dealer. Build ! the car line from Walnut Cove to 1 the county seat, then run a line j over through the Sandy Ridge j section of our county from the . county seat, and you will see Dan- • bury selling tobacco every day. Miss Wagoner, daughter of Mr. | Ren bin Wagoner, of Walkertown. came down on 3:28 train Saturday. She visited Miss Bessie Davis, returning Sunday on 1:21. We regret to announce the death of Mr. Griffin Flynt. He pissed away Friday afternoon at » o'clock. Mr. Flynt was one of our oldest citizens, being 80 years of age at time of death. Was buried Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. There are three sons, Jim, Sanders and Joe, and one daughter, Mrs. Jno. Young, of the immedi ate family, besides a host of friends to mourn their loss, Bob and Hardin, of Newark, Ohio, and John, of Greensboro, are at the bedside of their father, Mr. Jno. Young, 1 mile east of I town, who is quite poorly with 1 asthma. Miss Maggie Adains, wio has been indoors for the past 2 weeks, is improving. Two revenue officers were here the past week looking everywhere for booz. From their actions they surely had hot boxes. They tore planks otf the roof of some of the abandoned houses, broke into cistern rooms, etc. They found n3 moonshine, but from their actions after sundown they got onto some stamped spirits some where, yet their boxes were still hot. jDlint Davis was here again Sat urday He will start for Oregon on the loth inst. There was some very bad con duct on our streets Saturday after noon. Such as cursing, loud hol lering, etc. One very important y jung American, taking a friend up behind him on a little mule, rode right through the heart t f town on the sidewalk. Do you suppose it's all malt? I believe that there is some strong old boi z in the mixture that produces such actions. Where is the much need ed police? Of what use is the now city lock up. We utfer the following as proof that there was; something stronger than malt un- i der the hides of the parties re- 1 ferred to above. On Friday of} the past week two men drank 30 j bottles of malt oach from 2 o'clock i until 9 at night. This did not cause them to be the least bit boisterous or fussy. W. D. Bmnett carried Miss Vi-jla Scales to see Mits Eva Voss Sunday, Miss Scales, I suppose it's your time to fain". However, you slion' J. Hllijk. •"* " ,M emerfpfn"*' 'Sundo. u.
