Thursday and Friday nights of last week Prof. W. J. Deloney, of Indianapolis, Ind\ lectured here. The first evening to a mixed honse and the second night to males only. He is an ex-Roman Cath olic Priest, a ripe scholar and a pleasant entertainer. Ask Russell Mitchell how Deloney is on for tune telling. He left Saturday fur Mt. Airy. The Jr. O. U. A. M. of this place presented the public school of the Barham school with a nice play and Bible Saturday. Owing to Hon. C. O. McMichael getting crippled by a team running away with him a few days since, the play was presented by Prof. Sharp, of Stoneville. The Bible was pre sented by W. H. Whitehead, prin-' cipal of New Bethel Academy, with a fine speech. The boys pulled off their negro minstrel Saturday night to a d> • lighted honse. Mr. L. A. Duncan, of Dillard, was here yesterday HIKI curried away Messrs. J. A. Duncan mid Russell Mitchell, who have been attending school here. Peerman for shooting a negro and adjudged that the shooting was justifiable. Carter, Gann & Co. are hand ling 200 to 300 dozen eggs per week. Yet. some say eggs are scarce. Pardon us. We were about to forget to say that Duncan kissed bis boy friends before he left and Rnssell's girl shed a few tears. Mrs. T. J.
