T Smith conducted services at the Westfield Baptist Church Sunday. A large crowd in attendance. The members called Rev. W. M. Beamer, of Mt. Airy, for our next pastor, but we do not yet! know whether he will accept or not. While we regret to give up Dr. Smith as our jwstor, we will be pleased to have brother Bea mer with us. A Sunday school was organized at the Westfield Baptist church Sunday. Everybody invited to attend. We want to wake up Westfield one more time and we think to have a good Sunday school will be the proper way to begin. BUGS DESTROYING PLANTS. Oak Grove Farmers Wearing Long Faces—Mr. C. H. Lunsford's Mill Nearing Completion—Road Over seers Making Preparation for Court. Oak Grove. April 5. People of Oak Grove are wearing long faces 1 on the account of the recent cold weather. The bugs are destroying , the tobacco plants, which they are depending on for their staple crop. Mr. C. H. Lunsford, one of Oak ' Grove's most hustling men, has bis mill house near completion, and has ordered machinery and expects to have bis mill in run ning order by the last qf May. Easter will soon be here, and ; some of our prohibition folks are lin good cheer as they are expect ] ing a load of booze by that time. The chickens have kept very still for the past week as there has been a protracted meeting going on near by. Mr. N. 1. Boyles, who is a can didate for matrimony, spent Sat urday night near Cedar Hill and attended a box supper at that place. We think the road overseers are making preparations for court. Occasionally we sea a pile of brush in the road with a few rocks on it. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Smith spent Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. D. F, Edwards. Mr. Bolden, of High Point, spent Saturday night and Sunday at the home or Mr. R. G. Gentry.
