WANTS A DOfl TAX AT THIS SESSION LEGISLATURE Mr. Kifer Thinks It Is Time A Crusade Was Started Against the Canines Running Al Large In the County. King, N.C., Jan. 30. To Each and Every Citizen of Stokes County: Is it not time that we start a crusade against the worthless "" * dogs of this county that are run ning at large and doing an un limited amount of damage ? Thousands and thousands of dollars are the cost of the dam - * ages they do each year and then is it right that a person shall keep a lot of these worthless canines and when one of them in a rabid state bites a person there is nothing behind the dog whereby you can get damages f for the anxiety and cost the ' '• worthless dog causes your fam ily? I hope every person in Stokes county will take enough interest in this matter at once to write Hon. J. M. Fagg, at Raleigh, to see that a dog law is passes at this session of the Leg islature, taxing every dog that lives within the borders of Stokes county, and sufficiently large that we will rid ourselves of , about 90 per cent or more of the worthless things. Consider this matter for a minute and see if you can continue to take the risk and, if some one of your fam- B ily gets bitten by a rabid dog, pay B the cost of carrying them to H Raleigh for treatment, and r that's nothing compared to the 1 restlessness and loss of sleep you might have for a month, and 1 that is not all, you do not know I that the one who is bitten will ever get well.
