Page 4 TRUTHFUL AUVERTISING THE BASIS OF SUCCESS. Blsm the Ingredients Entering Perona Alt Known, Its Power as a Catarrh Remedy and Tonic is Understood. COLUMBUS, OHIO.—The ac tive Ingredients entering the most popular household remedy in the world have been made known to the public. This means a new era in the advertising of popular fam ily medicines—Peruna leads. Peruns contains among other things, golden seal, powerful In its effect upon the mucous mem branes. Cedron seed, a rare medicine and unsurpassed tonic. Cubebs, valuable in nasal catarrh and affections of the kidneys and bladder. Btone root, valuable for the nerves, mucous membranes as well as in dropsy and indi gestion. D. W. Hell Puts In a Word In Favor of Good Roads. Spray, July 21. Dear Old Reporter : 1 have been reading the many interesting letters from differ ent ones on the good roads subject. This is very interest ing to to me as I am in favor of better roads all over the country. There is not anything that will make a community more invit ing than good roads. If I had the time I would be willing to canvass Stokes county in favor of this subject, good roads. As lam a former resident of dear old Stokes lam greatly in terested in her welfare, as I hope some day to again be a resident of mv former county, old Stokes. If not before, I sincerely hope to have the honor of being buried in the soil of my greatly beloved county. I want to say to those who dread the tax, that they are paying a larger tax every year by not having better roads. I want to call the attention to a letter from Jack Leg some time ago, who told of a trip from Walnut Cove to Capella, which cost his party the sum of ten dollars. All because of bad roads. I was one of that party and remember the trip very well. The distance from Wal nut Cove to Capella is about 14 or 15 miles. Our party hired a conveyance from Spray to Stone ville, a distance of ten miles on the same trip which cost us only three dollars. So you can see that the difference in this one trip more than paid our road tax for one year. So every farmer let him be small or large pays treble taxes every year in norse flesh and wear and tear of vehicles, because of bad roads. I well remember another trip last year when I was in Stokes. My brother carried me from his home to Walnut Cove, and often times he had to drive very care ful to keep from breaking his buggy, which if he had good roads he could have made the trip in half the time, with no fear of breaking his vehicle. So trust ing that our people will rally for good roads, I will close. Very respectfully, D. W. HALL. ACCUSED OF STEALING E. E. Chamberlain, of Clinton.
