The past week was indeed the very warm est weatht-r of the season so far, yet our iittle village was not asleep, and some of the younger s«*t seemed quite as v, ide awake as if the cooler days of October were here. One never-to-be for gotten day was last Friday when a party oi - six drove to Piedmont, leaving Walnut Cove quite early while the melting rays of Old Sol were feebly stretching across the hilltops. On and on we drove over pleasant, though, in some places rough roads, reaching the quaint litt'e town of Danbury about 8:40 P. M. and finally ar riving at Piedmont at 9:30 A. M. A few hours were very pleasant ly spent at the hottl. meeting many friends and listening to K|iicndid music by the orchestra. We think the hotel, under its present, management:, has been a real success and surely it could not be otherwise, for both ladies and gentlemen seemed never to tire of looking after the pleasure of their guests. Mrs. Wood Richmond, of Wins ton-Salem, visited relatives here, last Wednesday. Miss Fannie Matlock, of Wins-' ton-Salem. who has been visiting; Miss Flossie Lasley for the past i week, returned to her home Sun day. Mr. J. R. Voss left Sunday for New York and other points north. Mrs. Tom Crews and little neice, Myra Samuel, of Durham, returned home Friday after visit ing relatives here for a few days. Mrs. Stultz, of Martinsville, is visiting her sister. Mrs. O. N. Petree. Mrs. Kire and Miss Mary Ban ner, of Greensboro, are expected to arrive here Wednesday or THIRTY YEARS TOGETHER Thirty years of association- i think of it. How the merit of j a good thing stands out in that. time or the worthlessness of a | bad one. Ss there's no guess work in this evidence of Thos. Ariss, Concord, Mich., who writes: "I have used Dr. King's New Discovery for 30 years, and its the best cough and cold [ cure I ever used." Once it finds |, entrance in a home you can't pry j it out.
