Oa Kiag Route 2.
King, Jan. 2. A beautiful
wedding occurred at the home
of the bride's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. L. R. Gravitt on King
Route 2, Dec. 27, when their
daughter. Miss Claudia, became
the bride of Mr. L. C. Slate, son
Mr. J. E. Slate, of Mizpah.
The marriage was witnessed
by only relatives and a few
friends. The bride wore a
gown of blue messaline silk,
which was very becoming.
Miss Mamie Gravitt, sister of the
bride, was maid of honor, Mr. D.
0. Slate, brother of the groom,
was best man, Miss Beulah Slate,
sister of the groom, and Mr. G.
W. Gravitt, brother of the bride,
next, Miss Lonie Gravitt, cousin
of the bride, and Mr. T. J. Rier
son, of Winston. Soon after
the ceremony was performed
they received a welcome invita
tion into the dining room where
they had prepared a most beauti
ful dinner for the occasion which
was enjoyed by all to the utmost.
After dinner they all returned
to the parlor and had some good
music on the organ by Mr. D.
0. Slate. All seemed to enjoy
themselves until about 2 o'clock,
when they started for the home
of the groom, arriving about
4 o'clock I suppose. I am sure
they found a hearty welcome,
awaiting them. The writer was
not present at the home of the
groom.
Mr. and Mrs. Slate expect to
make their future home at Mt.
View.
Wishing them a long and hap
py life.
