Miss Sallie Fulton returned to Salem Academy Monday after spending Saturday in town with hei mother. She was accompani ed home by her friend, Miss Annie Tyson, who is also a student at the Academy. Mr. Dodson made a trip to Richmond, Va., and other northern cities last Monday, re turning Fiiday night. Miss Mary Matthews, of Ger-1 manton, spent the day in town last Friday as the guest of Misses Claude and Stella Rier son. I Mr. Peter Hairston and wife, of Cooleemee, are spending a few days this week at their; Stokes farm, Sauratown, about three miles north of town. Misses Minnie Gray and Kate Marshall, of Dennis, were in town last Friday night to attend the dance. Mr. Eugene Flippin, of Mt. Airy, spent Saturday and Sun day in town with his friend, Mr. Jacob Fulton. Miss Irene Simpson, operator at the Southern depot at Pilot Mtn., spent the day in town Sunday as the guest of Mrs. Dodson. Mr. Gilbert Petree, of Wins ton-Salem, was in town Satur-1 day and Sunday. Miss Abernethy and Eugene Dodson spent the day Sunday j very delightfully with Misses i Marshall at Dennis. Misses Jessie Vaughn and j Nell Petree returned to their j respective schools after spending the week end in town with home folks, i Dallas, the little son of Mr. jE. 0. Creakman, of Pine Hall, was taken seriously sick Friday I while at school here. The little . boy with other children at Pine Hall have been taking advan tage of the early train and com | ing and going from school on train. Dr. Tuttle was called in to see the little fellow and found I him to be a very sick child and i thought he was taking pneu monia. He was sent to his ! home on the late train Friday ! p. m, Mr. J. N.
