A NICE AFFAIR.
School At Lawsonville Closes
With Entertainment.
Lawsonville, N. C., April 7.
—The closing exercises of the
school at Lawsonville on last
Saturday was a marked success
and a compliment to the teachers,
Mr. (iaither C. Davis and Miss
Obera Moore. The recitations
and dialogues of the little folks
in the forenoon were well gotten
up and delivered. Their bright
shining faces portray intelligence
and determination. "The Ex
ceptional Person" as a subject
and delivered by Chas. R. Helsa
beck, was well received by the
audience.
A really nice and enjoyable
feature of the day was the good
dinner served by the ladies on
the grounds. After dinner
there was a march spelling
| "L A W S 0 N V I L L E," which
was very pretty. It showed a
great deal of training. Then
followed the afternoon program
which was composed of songs,
recitations and dialogues by the
older pupils. In this was the
real fun of the day because the
'Trouble in the Morman Fam
ily," "AxinFadder," "Smith,"
etc., kept you laughing continu
ously.
The day was one long to be
remembered by all present. The
good behavior on the part of the
audience was complimentary.
From the parting of the teachers
and children there was evidence,
in the mingling tears and hesi
tating good-byes, of a very close
friendship; and here we are
reasonably certain that the
school year was a success.
Carl Ray Pitching.
Manager Clancy's line-up this
afternoon will be about the
same as on Saturday. Ray will
pitch and the Blue Grass
youngster will likely perform in
center garden.
Carl Ray had a rather bad
day Saturday. He struck out
only fifteen men. His number
usually runs to eighteen or more.
Carl arrived in the city Sunday
afternoon—Winston Sentinel 7th.
Mr. Rufus Mabe, of Danbury
Route 1, was here today. Mr.
Mabe was one of his township's
strongest supporters of the
bond issue for good roads.

Coughs and Consumption.
Coughs and colds, when neg
lected, always lead to serious
trouble of the lungs. The wisest
thing to do when you have a cold
that troubles you is to get a bot
tle of Dr. King's New Discovery.
You will get relief from the first
dose, and finally the cough will
disappear. 0. H. Brown, of
Muscadine, Ala., writes: "My
wife was down in bed with an
obstinate cough, and I honestly
believe had it not been for Dr.
King's New Discovery, she
would not be living today."
Known for forty-three years as
the best remedy for coughs and
colds. Price 60c and SI.OO.

Constipation and Catarrh
S. B. HARTMAN, M O.
Tou are constipated. Tou have taken

have tried to select a diet that would

Tou also have a slight catarrh in the

th&t the catarrh had anything to do

I lleve me? Well, whether you would be
lieve me or not it is the truth.
R>r many years I have been wrest
ling with the problem of furnishing
the public an internal catarrh remedy.
Peruna has been the remedy that I
have devised and it has certainly re
lieved many thousand people, yes hun
dreds of thousands of people, of chronio
catarrh.
Constipation was my chief difficulty
in treating these cases. 1 often felt
tlip.t it would be better if a laxative
element were added to Peruna. I feared
to do so. however, first because of
the number of catarrhal patients who
needed no laxative, and second I was
afraid of making such a radical change
in a remedy that was already doing
so well. Thus it was that I continued
to prescribe with the Peruna a bottle
of Manalin to those who needed a lax
ative. At last, under circumstances
explained in my booklet, I was con
strained to add the laxative element to
Peruna. This constitutes what is now
known as the revised Peruna.
Now those who take Peruna will,
first, find themselves promptly relieved
of their consiipation. Second, the
catarrh will gradually disappear. And
once the catarrh is cured the consti
pation leaves permanently. Then If
you follow the advice given in my
| book, you will never have to take pills
I any more. Cathartics and laxatives
j you can ignore. You will be perma
nently relieved of both your catarrh
and the constipation. PERIT X A IS
