How to Foretell The Weather The onl\ •. th» un usually ie!lj ble, rn« tbi ds of know ii uia? t ii«• weather i* go ing to le aie : 1. Getting •h 1 :iri! forecast of the Init'ii State* Weather Bureau. 2. Heading 'he ha'om* tei and noting wind direction. 3. Ob'erving existing con ditions of the weather aml*draw ing inferences base I upon ex perience. Each of the methods may, of course, be used to the exclusion of, or in conjuction with, either or both of the others. However, since the information received by the Weather Bureau neces sarily is limited, and since it is impracticable to rrake hourl\ forecasts for individual farms and villages, it manifestly is best to use. if possible, all three at the same time : The official forecast for knowledge of the type* of weather to be expected on the morrow: the barometer and wind direction for evidences, of rapid ch.inges, and of what the weather may be in a very few hours; and fin.-.lly tin* weather signs of the kinij above explained, for indication* of what the weather probably will be during at least the next hour or two. In shor', use the Weather Bureau, use your baro meter, and use your experience too. But above all, use you own good sense and nt vjr accept any forecast that hasn't an intelligible reason for it.—Chief L. Moon, of United States Weather Bu reau, in The Progressive Farmer.
