Piedmont Springs, July 30 Among the many special amuse ments to be ensraged in by the guests at this resort was a minstrel show in the ball room here on Friday night, in which many of the prominent and popular young people of the state were guests and took part Dr. George Brittain, who is by the way especially fitted for this king'of work, had charge of the show, and this fact alone gives assurance that the occasion was a very interesting one. To give the reader some idea of the nature of the show we quote from one of the bills posted here, as fol lows : "The greatest showj since George Wallace crossed the great Sauratown mountain. • We have spent untold fortunes' in securing the following all star cast : Jimimoni Hillini, (Jim Hill), Heinrichi Poindexterburg, (Natt Poindexter), Francisco Womackus (Francis Womack). Caruso Follinsan (Eleanor Fol lin), Ashtonini Hillinoni (Ashton Hill). Carolina Macrayamb (Caroline Mcßae), Elizabethi Colemanissky (Elizabeth Cole man), and others." The curtain will rise promptly at 8 o'clock and a large sale of seats and more fun is expected Mrs, R T. Stedman, of Wins ton, accompanied by her sisters, Misses Mollie and Alice Hill, of Germanton, have arrived to join the family of Will P. Hill, of Winston, who are spend ing some time here Miss Elizabeth Christian, of Lyons. N. Y., and Tom Moir and Miss Elizabeth Crews, of Walkertowd, came in Tuesday to spend two weeks. Messrs. Norman Stockton, Henrv Shelton, Agnew Bahnson and Murphy McNair, of Wins ton. came up Saturday, to spend ; the week end. James A. Gray, Sr., of Wins ton, has returned home after spending ten days here- An automobile party of young men from Walnut Cove attended the dance here Thursday night In the party were Messrs. A. The latter remained to spend some time. - Misses Jessie Trogdon, of Greensboro, Helen Crews and Richie McCrow, of Danville, ac companied by Dr. Moore, of Greensboro, and A. K. A telephone mes sage to the Reporter today an nounced that a company was formed in that place last night, with a capital of SB,OOO, for the building of a warehouse, to for business by September 1. Mr. E. J. Davis, of Martinsville, Va, will hare charge of the management of the warehouse. Work will begin at once on the building, which will be centrally located. The Reporter's inform ant stated that practically all of the business men of Walnut Cove are behind the movement. The boys have put up the post and will practice riding this afternoon. At 1:30 o'clock the old time gander pulling will come off. This will be one of the most in teresting features of the day. The gander or goose will be hung up head-downward with its feathers greased and the one riding bv at full speed and unheading it will be awarded the prize. At 2 o'clock the wild bull ride takes place in front of Mr. N. 0. Petree's residence in the street. Mr. James Flinchum will mount a wild bull with two big spurs and ride him until he is thoroughly broke to riding. This bull is a fearful looking one and no one has ever been able to ride him. | In the forenoon Rosebud and I Danbury will play a series of i games of ball while in the after jnoon Mt.
