IHE COMPULSORIf SCHOOL LAW All Children Between the Aj>'es of 8 and 12 Years Must Attend. The new school law for North Carolina requires the attendance of children between the ages of 8 and 12 years. The enforce ment of this new feature is likely to create some friction, but we hope that all parties will deal patiently till the new law is tried j out and the people get adjusted j to it. It will undoubtedly bringa great blessing to many children whose parents would otherwise neglect to see that they g?t the benefit of the provision which has been made for their educa tion. This law will not only be a blessing in that it will greatly increase the attendance in our schools, but it will reveal in i almost every community the very destitute circumstances of many whom should be assisted in one way or another so as to 1 make it possible for them to comply with this new law. Many people will be surprised to find destitution at their doors of which they know little or nothing. Willing Workers Extend Thanks. King, (h-t. 13, 1913.
