Mr. Harden MeGee, a German ton merchant, visited Danbury Thursday. Mr. Thomas S. Petree, of Walnut Cove, spent Saturday night and Sunday in Danbury. Messrs. J. M. and J. T. Burge, of Smith, were Danbury visitors today. Rev. T. J. Folger preached at the M. E. church here Suaday, filling hia semi-monthly appoint ment. A large traction engine purch ased by Mr. Joseph Martin, «f Campbell, to operate his ww mill, was brought through Dan bury Monday by Mesars. Fraak Pringle and Roy Martin. Messri. R. R. Rag and Robt. Joyce returned last week from Mt. Airy, where they hava been doing some bridge work for the Virginia Bridge & Iron Works. A telephone message received here yesterday stated that a forest fire was raging on Brown Mt. The fire was thought to have been started by a farmer while burning a plant bed. The road forces working on the new road between Danbury and Meadows postoffice have been moved from right near here to the hill near the County Home.
