Sreenslioro To Be Made Parcel Post Terminal Greensboro, Feb. 19 Local au thentic shave just. received noti fication from department eiFicials j at Washington announcing that • it been definitely decided to! establish a parcel post terminal : at dreensboro to serve this city and surrounding sections of the State. Government olTicials have already secured a five-year lease on a suitable buil.iing in 1 which to locate the terminal, j and advices are that the new; terminal will begin actual oper- i ationson March 1, givingemploy-1 t*. a clear»cal force of ten men. The establishment of the ter minal here will mean much ti; Greensboro and the surrounding section, as it will insure a prompt and more etFicient service to pat r ins ot the heal postoffice as well as to patrons offices in nearby territory. The Gate City was nam ed as the point in which to estab lish the parcel post station over several other points in this section which were anxious to get the office. The ourposj of the new terminal according to local postal officials, is to facilitate thj handling of the greatly increased parcel post business, #n 1 11 eliminate as far as possiblj the handling of "heavy" mails while enroute in railway mail cars. When operations begin at the new station it is believed that aa efficient service will be inau gurated and that the work of handlingmails will be more even, ly divided among Uncle Sam's employees. oa!
