The burial services at the family grave-yard Friday were attended by a large number of friends and relatives of the little girl. Stokes county, several miles west of this town, shot at a man livine on his place early Monday morn ing before ilay. it is said. It is reported that he went to the house of one Jim Richardson, a ter.ant on his place, called Richardson from the house, abused him for some time and tiu*n drew his shotgun and tked at Richardson. None of the shot struck Richardson, however. Richardson is a mute. It is aliened that Rakestraw was intoxicated and that he and Richardson had some trouble once before about cutting tobac co. and that at that time Rake straw shot at Richardson several times with a revolver without hitting him.
