'lhe officials of the Southern
railway have put another freight
train on the Mt. Airy division
and the shippers will hereafter
have every day service instead
of three times a week as during
the past month. It is learned
that this action was necessary on
account of the vigorous protests
t.i' shippers and merchants who
were considerably inconvenienced
by the discontinuance of every
day transportation.
it is learned from reliable
r. ilhoiity >n the subject that
more whiskey and other forms
of booxo is being shipped to this
point dunng this month than at
;iny time during the pa.it year,
'i his is probably due to the
n:cent anti-jug law which limits
the quantity to one quart and
every man who expects to be
bitten by a snake next summer
i 3 storing away a reasonable
quantity to allay the effects of
the bite.

Messrs. Arev and Holt state
