This March 29th, 191">. ii N. S. JONES. Executor. ■ N. O. Petree, Atty. i Some Solemn Facts. ! This is the age of greatest missionary opportunity—the age of open doors. Prayer opened the doors: indill'erence cannot shut them, but it may keep Christ out. The life of a great nation is being molded for good or ill. The kind of mothers, the kind of homes, the kind of chil dren there are to be in the Orient during the next generation is be ing determined by our attitude toward the present crisis in the Fast. Whether the Latin coun tries are to become more Chris tian of more pagan depends upon whether we will increase the little leaven that it may leaven the whole country. The future of our own nation i.i not vet assured. At least two g-'eat nop - Protestant religions claim that in a few years they will control this country educa tionally and religiously. Heathen temples are being erected here. Nothing but the gospel of Christ i:» si.iihctent t" spv * kit Matins). T> us is entrusted tii.it far-reach ing hut difl'a alt work of making .our own a Christian natijn, strong enough :«» bear its J:I share in the worid task". To the Woman's Missionary Council whom God has entrusted with a large part ol' the work of Christian education in the Fast, in the Latin lands, and among ! the mountain, foreign-horn and black people here, with medical and evangelistic work among thousands of suffering and mis guided people, with a large part in the redemption of the cities and the uplift of the faik-n. conies a call for enlargement along all lines. Failure to send out more worse rs, to enlarge u institutions, t> equip them for better work is refusal to use for Him the power He Las given us to do this work. We are stewards of a gospel that has power to save every race and nation. We are more: iwe a»e partners with God in a big business that requires haste. We are helping to build a king dom. Our investment of money in the King's business has been shamefully small. Reports from our institutions showing how ; much larger the work might be: reports from overburdened work ers: with their plea for help: the cry from those yet unreached: the needs of unoccupied territory: reports of treasurers of mission ary societies and of the churches all tell a story of narrow vision and selfishness. The pitiful tenth of the income of our poor Southern Methodist folks is near ly four times what we are giving for all religious purposes. We have been negligent, slothful, selfish stewards. Let us begin now to do better. - Leailet. Mr. M ill Moore's Springs ho tel, was a visitor here Friday. I Told That There Was No Cure For Him. "After suffering for over twenty years with indigestion \ and having some of the best doc- 1 tors here tell me there was no cure for me. I think it only right to tell you for the sake of other i sufferers as well as your own I satisfaction that a 25 cent bottle! of Chamberlain's Tablets not 1 only relieved me but cured me : within two months although I am a man of 95 years." writes Jul.
