i Governor's Mansion.;
Raleigh, Nov. 2S—The North
Carolina Teachers' Assembly is
Raleigh's guest this week be
ginning with Tuesday when the
State Association of County Su
perintendents had their first ses
sion and ending Friday evening
with the reception at the Gover
nor's Mansion.
Governor and Mrs. Craig came
to the rescue of the entertain-;
ment committees when all other
places in the city were decided
inadequate to the receiving of
such a body of men and women.
The Rotary Club, the Cham
ber of Commerce, the Merchants'
Association, the Women's Club
and the teachers in both city and
county schools haye organized to
make the reception at the Man
sion the delightful event that a
1 ! closing feature should be. It
will be attended by perhaps a
thousand teachers.
The chief executive and Mrs.
Craig had a previous engagement
in New York city and will be un
able to be present to stand in the
receiving line but gladly turned
over the state's house to the
state's teachers. But for the
Mansion the entertainment of
such a gathering would have
been almost impossible. The gov-]
ernor's staff will represent him j
and the receiving line will bej
made up of the many organiza-j
tions which give this splendid
tribute to the teachers.
