MARRIAGE SDRDAT. Sunday School At Delta Organized—Personal Items From Sandy Ridge Route 1. Sandy Ridge Route 1. Jan. 10.— The Sunday school at Delta met Sunday and reorganized for the new year. All the old officers and teachers were re-elected. J Mr. Willie Kington and Mrs. Nellie Martin were united in the holy bonds of matrimony on Sunday afternoon at the home of the bride, Rev. J. A. Joyce performing the ceremony. We extend congratulations. The school at Delta re-opened last Monday after a vacation of about ten days. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Nunn spent Saturday night at Mr. W. T. Ward's. THE DAN BURY REPORTEU Pound Party and Other Social Affairs At Gideon-Personals. Gideon, Jan. 10. —The public schools opened Monday (last) with a good attendance. Miss Lillian Mitchell spent a short while at Mr. W. M. Flynt's Saturday. Miss Lillian Mitchell, who has been visiting her uncle, Mr. W. W, Mitchell, returned home Wednesday. There were several parties given in the neighborhood during the holidays which were enjoyed very much by the young people. Misses Lizzie and Susie Adkins spent a short while at Mr. W. M. Flynt's Sunday. Mrs. W. M. Flynt and Mrs. R. C. Gann visited at Mr. J. F. Dunlap's Monday. Mr. Rector Tilley, of this place, visited his people of Brown Mountain last week. was a pound party given at Mr. Gid Dnnlap's Saturday night. Those who were present are as follows : Misses Lula, Lillian and Mary Kington, Stella Martin, Medley Wilkins, Nettie and Geneva Hennis and Lillie Ward; Messrs Bloomer and Percy Wilkins, L*vi Hennis, Jodie and John Kington and many others. Mrr. Joe Bowling, who has been sick for several weeks, does i not improve very much, we are sorrv to note. Mrs. Charlie Wagoner visited Mrs. VV. M. Flynt Saturday. Several of the boys of this neighborhood left for High Point Monday and as they didn't secure any job they returned Friday. Meeting of Etude Music Club. After the programme the committee hai arranged a very interesting musical contest, the prize being awarded to Dr. C. M. Martin, which was a picture of Grieg, the composer studied. 1 Delicious refreshments were served consisting of fruit salad, ambrosia and coffee, after which the club adjourned at twelve fifteen to meet with Miss Sadie Petree on Friday evening, Jan. 14th, 1916.
