Senator Sam H. Hobbs of Clinton,
Sampson county, who was spend
ing some time in this county
visiting his daughter, Mrs. Coun
ty Agent Kirby. He was ac
companied by Mrs. Kirby and
Miss Laura Ellington,
i Senator Hobbs is one of the

most distinguished citizens of the
State, of very courtly mariners,
delightful personality and rare

. culture. He i3 a large planter

of Sampson county, and one of it 3
outstanding citizens. Besides rep
resenting his county in the State
Senate, he has held a number of
other positions of public honor
and trust.
