Father Of S. G Sparger
Dies At Baltimore
George W. Sparger, Sr., father
of S. Gilmer Sparger, died Men
day morning at 7:30 o'clock at
his home at Baltimore, Md. H«
had been in ill health for two
years.
The body was taken to Mt. Airy
foi the burial from the home of a
son, George W. Sparger, Jr., at
Mount Airy. The funeral will be
held at Central Methodist Church
at Mount AMry, Thursday after
noon at 4 o'clock.
Surviving are the widow; three
daughters, Mrs. W. M. Thomas, of
Winston-Salem; Mrs. W. S. Dick
son, of Larchmont, N. Y.; Miss
Caroline Sparger, of Baltimore;
and two sons, S. Gilmer Sparger,
of Raleigh, and George W. Spar
ger, of Mount Airy.
Mr. Sparger, the deceased, for
merly lived at Mt. Airy and wa3
prominent in civic, business and'
political circles. He represented j
Surry and Stokes in the State
Senate about 40 years ago.

Young Man Dies
This Morning
John, 26-year-old son of Mr. j
and Mrs. G. \V\, Neal of Walnut
Cove, died in a Winston-Salem
hospital today (Friday). The!
cause of his death was reported j
to be infection from an abscessed j
tooth. He was hurriedly ca'Ticd
to the hospital Thursday evening
by -Nelson's ambulance.
