Walnut Cove Boy
Struck By Car
On Tuesday afternoon the 16-
year-old son of Dora Southern
1 was struck by an automobile on
t Main street in Walnut Cove and
j knocked several feet. The boy
was crossing the street about 2
o'clock at Riley Turner's store
when a car driven by the educa

While in a drinking party that
played poker Sunday near Sandy
Ridge, Watt Smith was shot
through the intestines by Uusscii
Nelson. Smith was taken to a
Stuart, Va., hospital where it is
reported he is dangerously hurt.
The weapon used was a 22-rifle.
Nelson was arrested and brought
to Danbury jail pending the un
certain condition of Smith.

Mrs. Charles A. Adams was
fatally injured in an automobile
wreck in Greensboro Wednesday
morning at the intersection of
Walker and Scott avenues Her
car collided with one driven by
Starr Davis. Mrs. Adams was
taking her children to schooi.
Charles Jr., riding on the front
seat with his mother, received
cuts on his face while Donald, rid
ing on the back seat was unhurt-
