lately been indisposed with heart
trouble and high blood pressure.
Mr. Ham will be better when the
warm days of spring come—at

was in the county this week on
business. Mr. Burge conducts
one of the most up-to-date res
taurants in this section of the
State at Pilot. He is a Stoked
boy, and is making good at his
chosen work.

* W. F. Marshall, Stokes repre
sentative in the legislature, spent
the week-end at his Walnut Covo
home. Mr. Marshall thinks at
the present rate at which legisla
tion is being put across that it
will be at least March 15 befoto
the general assembly adjourns,

J. R. Rhodes of Madison, ac
companied by Jim Pardue, spent
a while in Danbury Tuesday at
tending to some business. Mr.
Rhodes, who is now 78, says his
health is not good as he suffers
high blood pressure and compli
cations. He is a good citizen
and has been long a good friend
and patron of the Reporter. Al

comes in to see us and shake

many years, and we hope his
health gets better with the fine

The Caesar Latin Club of the
Walnut Cove High School met oil
February 14th with Angela Tay
lor at her home in Danbury.
The meeting was called to or
der by the vice president Angela
Taylor. The minutes were read
and approved. The following new
officers were elected: President.
Marion Fulton, vice-president,
Nancy Jane lielsabcck, Secretary
and treasurer, Angela Taylor. Af
ter the election of officers Mrs. I.
Spott Taylor gave a very inter
esting talk on the Vatican at
Rome. She showed to the club a
memory chain which was collect
ed on a trip to Rome. The mem
ory chain contained pictures > l?
Romulus and Remus and many
other scenes in Rome.
Two interesting contests wers
enjoyed. The winner of the fir3'
being Marion Fulton who received
a Valent'ne box of candy, an.l
Nancy Jane Helsabeck won /i
chocolate heart with the inscrip

Mai ion Fulton also won the prize
in a guessing contest.
The guests were invited into
the dining room, which was at
