Airy—Stokes Boys In The Smash-Up Mount Airy, Oct. 2.—Two msn were injured, one seriously, th! 3 afternoon about 4 o'clock when 1 1 two cars crashed head-on three miles east of here on the West field highway. Claiborne Taylor, 25, of the Cooks's school community, suf fered a fractured left arm and laceration to an ear which almost severed the member from his head. He is a patient at Martin Memorial Hospital here. His con dition was reported a a serious. Clayton Cardwell, 28, of Fran cisco, Stokes county, suffered a lacerated wrist and the loss of blood. He wa s given treatment at the hospital here. Billy Taylor, Herbert Taylor anj Robv Love, all of the Cook's school community, were riding in the coup® operated by Caiborne Taylor. I _ Clifford Mabe Not Responsible In Fatal Accident A truck driven by Clifford Mabe. son of Lefford Mabe of Danbury Route 1, caused the death of a young man in western North Carolina last week. The af fair happened on a construction job where the truck, owned by Everett Wagoner of Germanton, accidentally backed into the workman causing hi a death.
