Lawsonville News Lawsonville, Oct. 18.—Farmers are busy getting their tobacco ready for market next week. Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Lawson of King visited here Sunday. Mrs. Minnie Lawson is on the Bick list under the medical care of Dr. W. N. Thompson of Stuart. I Va. Her many friend s hope she will soon be Weil again. Mrs. Annie Davis of Greensboro is visiting relatives here. Mrs. Gertrude Lawson visited her grandparents Sunday, Mr. i and Mrs. P. H. Young, at Sandy j Ridge. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Rober*.- j son visited Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Smith Sunday. \ Mrs. Cora Tilley and daughter spent Friday in Madison. Hampton Lawson is spending this week with his uncle, John Helmes of Stuart, Va. The big store here will open Friday, Oct. 20. Owned and op erated by ft L, Martin, P. M. Home Demonstration Club Of King The Home Demonstration club of King held it a regular monthly meeting at the club house recent ly. Mrs. G. E. Stone, president, presided over the business ses sion. At this time new officers were elected for the coming year, which are a s follows: President. Mrs. J. F. Brown; vice-president, Mrs. J. Worth Gentry: secretary, i Mrs. O. L. Rains; assistant sec retary, Mr. Reid Boies and treas urer, Mrs. C. S. Newsum. Two new members, Mrs. Anne Grabs and Mrs. Ralph McGee were add ed to the membership. The club j voted to give $5.00 to help finance jOpal Kington's trip to Chicago. I An amount of SIO.OO was voted : to assist the Woman's Club in j purchasing chairs and tables for the club house. This was the second annual Hill I reunion and we hope it a results shall bring this and future geu- j erations in touch with each other. Elder James Hill, Primi-' tive Baptist minister, who came' jto this county from Henry coun- j i ty, is the first history we have j !of the H:il generation. He mar-i j ried Miss Sophia Leake, a native j iof this pia.ee. They iived and j i died or. a farm on Dan River! I near Union Mill.
