THE DANBU Established 1872 Volume 66 "BOOKMOBILE" STARTS NOV. 8 SPONSORED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND FI NANCED BY WPA. On November 8, 1939, a WPA "Bookmobile", carrying books that any reader might want, will be gin its travels over Stokes coun ty. This bookmobile is operated by WPA and owned by the Fed eral agency. The Stokes Cnuny Board of Education is sponsoring this work and cooperating in every possible way to make it a success and give anyone in the county a chance to take advant age of the opportunity offered by this bookmobile. The feame rounds will be made every two weeks and books can be exchanged or renewed for another two weeks. Given below is the schedule for the first five trips to be made. Threafter it will be at the same place two weeks from that date. If these stops are not within a reasonable distance to everyone in the county and they wish to get books, please send a card to Martha Powell, Walnut Cove, N. Thirteen Still Holds Good As Lucky Num ber—E. E. Shelton Has a Good One For Ripley Deputy Sherff Elmer E. Shel ton of Francisco believe a like the late President Woodrow Wilson that thirteen is a lucky number. Mr. Shclton, who with his fami ly and relatives are happy, healthy and prosperous, and he has the following item for Ripley: E. E. Shelton was born on De cember 13. Hie wife wae born on Feb ruary 13. His oldest boy wae born on April 13. His father-in-law was born on July 13. •- Elmer E., one of his brothers and his brother's wife, all born on the 13th of the month. John Taylor, fhe last boy of E. E., was born on the 13th, and Dr. Smith said the snow wag 13 inches deep that day. There are 13 year 9 exactly be tween the ages of E.
