Danbury township Harry Venable Court meets with Judge J. W. Pless, Jr., on the bench April 1, which is a week's criminal term. The second week, begin ning April 8, is a civil term. Sheriff Taylor Brings Back Homer Yost From Kansas City, Missouri Homer Yost, who leftt this section some weeks ago, was brought here this week from Kansas City, Mo., by Sheriff John Taylor who went after him with a warrant. Yost, who has a wife and several cchildren near Law sonwille, is charged with non support and desertion of his family. He was later released under bond for his appearance at court. While in Kansas city Sheriff Taylor visited his sister - Mrs. Mattie Sue sod hgr husband Dr. Wilkinson, who are residents of that dty. THE NEW I 7-ISLAND ROAD CHANGES MADE IN THE ORI GINAL ROUTE PLANNED WORK IS PROGRESSING RAPIDLY ON THE PROJECT. The route of the new Seven Island road now being constructed by W. P. A. and the State high way commission, has been chan- j ged from the first plans. The j road instead of beginning near i i the Old Inn and the Danbury ; Reporter officce which was the route first considered —will start at a point near the Bap tist church in the west end of Danbury on highway No. 89, and will follow practically the old road leading to Seven Island bridge, but grades are being cut down and curves eliminated. After crossing the Seven Island bridge the route will lead to the right instead of the left, and will traverse that section of Peter's Creek township near the Robert Mabe old place and Noel Oakley's and Reely Stevens'. It will intersect with the Hartman- Jewell road near where the present road leads out. Reid Jones is the superinten dent of this project. Some very modern road building machinery is being used, while about 40 hands are engaged. The work is proceeding rapidly, and the forces should reach the bridge in a few days. —————— Filling Station Robbed Wilkes Boys In Jail The Gulf Service Station at Walnut Cove, operated by John Lewellyn, was recently robbed, and Julian and David Wilkes are in jail here charged with the robbery. At a hearing before Magistrate P. C. Campbell their bond was fixed at SI,OOO, which they failed to give. The service station was enter ed on two separate nights, namely, Monday night of last weeek and Wednesday night of this week. Fifty dollars in cash and about $200.00 worth of mer chandise were stolen. The arrests were made by Sheriff Taylor and Deputies Berk Smith, Jim Flinchum, Carl Ray and Everett Wagner. Gilbert Alley, of Hartman, waa here Monday. M. O. Jones was here from Walnut Cove Monday. N. S. Mullican, of Germanton, was a business visitor here this week. Mrs. Charlie Martin and chil dren and Prather Hall are visiting Mrs. Martin's mother, Mrs. Jim Moore, in Charlotte. H. M.
