Shelton of Vade Mecum was a business visit or here Friday. The weather has been fine here for the past few days, in fact it has been so warm that snakes have ventured out from their win ter hiding. Hobert Petree who I holds a position with the Stokes killed a blacksnake on the high way near the Martha Spease place Motor Company here ran over and wit his automobile one day last week. The business section of King is located on the farm originally • owned by Mr. Spainhower. Lloyd White'who holds a posi tion in Washington, D. C., is spending a few days with his fam -- ily on West Main Street. He is the son "of the late Charlie White, a former King merchant. Death Of T. J. Folger Former Danbury Pastor Thomas J. Folger, aged 58, died at his home at Dobson Saturday. He was a brother of Congressman John H. Folger. Formerly a min ster of the gospel, he had to aban don the ministry owing to ill health. He was pastor of the Dan bury Methodst Church four year 3 About 30 years ago. Mr. Folger was born in Surry county, September 1, 1883, a son of Thomas W. and Ada Dillard ' Robertson Folger. He spent most |of his life around Dobson. H studied for the ministry at one I time and was active in religious affairs. The luneral was held Wednes day afternoon at 2 o'clock at Dob son Methodist Church, Surviving are two sons, Charles Folger of Dobson and Thurmond Folger of New Jersey; one daugh ter, Miss Lois Folger of Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, John H. Fol ger of Washington, D, C. and Mount Airy; Will Folger of Wash ington, D. C.; and Hugh (Babe) Folger of Atlanta, Ga„ and three sisters, Mrs. Will Hollingsworth and Mrs. J. D. Tire Rationing Board Published Thursdays Mrs. Martha Sisk, ] Lawsonville, Dies Mrs. Martha Jane Sisk, 66, of i Lawsonville, died at ner home early Wednesday following a ling ering illness. The funeral will be held at the home at 1 o'clock this afternoon with Elder Noel Gilbert in charge. Burial will be in the Sisk family cemetery. Survivors include two daugh ters, Mrs. Agnes Tucker, Pilot Mountain, and Mrs. Elmer Shel ton, Lawsonville; one son, H. C. Sisk, Archdale, 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
