PETREE DEAN CF STOKES BAR PASSES AT WINSTON HOSPITAL FUNERAL AND INTERMENT HERE T DAY Nathaniel Oliver Petree, aged 86, died early Tuesday morning at a Winston-Salem hospital after a critical illness of several weeks. Mr. Petree, who was one of Danbury's most aged and honored citizens, was the dean of tho Stokes bar. having practiced law here for 42 years. He had been in declining health for several years, and suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago from which he never rallied. He was Clerk Superior Court of Stokes county for 16 years, was County Attorney for 24 years and a member of the Christian church. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church conducted by Rev. J. L. Love and Rev. Ralph Buchanan, after which the inter ment was in the cemetery here. Pallbearers were R. J. Scott, J. J. Taj lor, Dallas Kirby, William McCanless, Tom Cofer and P. M. Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were R. M. Gordon, John W. Kurfees, •onn H. Folger, Dr. R. H. Moore ngton, H. M. Joyce, Sr., R. L. Smith, J. Watt Tuttle, John M. Ta\ lor, S. P. Christian, J. R. Leake, W. H. Rhodes and J. L. Christian Mr. Petree was born July 11, 1858, in Dalton, Stokes county, a son of Riley Frost and Olethia Helsabeck Petree. He was mar ried to Miss Minerva Hill of Ger manton. who died May 12, 1933. One daughter, Mrs. C. W. Joyce also preceded him in death. Survivors include four sons, Frank Petree of Altus, Okla., and T. S., W. G., and S. E. Petree, all of Danbury; one daughter, Mrs. C. M. Martin of Elgin, Ok!a.; 15 grandchildren and a number o( great-grandchildren. i ******* :** OUR BOYS ********* Pfc.
