A. London, of the Chatham Record, are the following : j "Durham's Exposition was a com plete success, and was a credit not only to that town, but our State. We enjoyed the pleasure of attending it two days, lhursdayjand rnday (the 11th and 12th), and it made us feel proud as a North Carolinian that our State could boast of a town that could have so creditable an exposi tion. Yes, it was worthy of Durham, and this of itself is saying a great deal, for that wonderful town never does anything by halves nor ever fails in anything it undertakes. It was entirely and almost exclusively a Durham Exposition, onlyr a very articles of any kind being exhibited by citizens of other; towns. One striking feature of this exposition was that no admittance fee was charged for seeing anything, nor was any'charge made for entering any thing for exhibition, all the expenses (which are usually defrayed by such charges) having been paid by liberal subscriptions of Durham's public- spirited citizens. This; is Durham's peculiar way ot doing 1 things she idid not invite everybody to visit her grand exposition and then charge her guests tor what they saw : ao, everything was to be seen without money and without price. Every thing, except tobacco, was exhibited inlParrish's comodious land magnifi cent warehouse, which presented a scene of rare' beauty, such as money combined with lartistic taste only Plant Photographs.
