At a meeting of the directors of the Wilmington Savings and Trust Com pany, held' yesterday, the regular semi ahual dividend of 3 per cent, was de clared, Spaya'ble July 1st to all stock holders of record. The board of directors of the National Bank of Wilmington at a meeting held yesterday declared a semi-annual div idend of 3 per cent., and carried $1,500 to the surplus fund. . i The Man Who Got Shot , Ingraham Howe, colored, wo was shot 'on Friday night by Charles H. A Pocket Book Snatched V Considerable . excitement was crea ted at 9:30 o'clock last night near Mr. E. H. Batson's store, on Seventh and Orange streets, by twk negro boys who snatched a pocketbook from a colored woman. She gave the alarm, and ran after the boys and several men and boys joined in the chase. The -boys ran down Orange to Sixth street ajid down 'Sixth street to Ann where they made good their escape. A street car was passing: at the time and some of the passengers saw the boys running and got off and chased them. The pocket bood contained $5.00. The people yelled for the police, tout hone Were to be seen anywhere around. Election of Officers. Carolina Cycle Club The "run" of the Carolina Cycle Club, o 'have taken place on Thurs day night, was postponed till tomorrow night. on account of the threatening weather. All the members are " re quested to meet at Seventh and Mar ket streets, promptly at 7:45 p. m., as the procession will move at 8 p. m. sharp. The "run"" will be to the sec ond toll house. The club now has 133 members which shows a wonderful growth in the past month. A month ago the club only had a membership of 25. Robbery LastH I sht. Last night between 9 and 10 o'cloek the residence of Mrs. A. M. Robbins, HO iDock street, was entered by the Tack stairway running Into the upper por tion of the house occupied by the fam ly of Hikle Gideon, the Syrian mer chant. His rooms , were completely ransacked, trunks toeing broken open land money and valuables extricated therefrom. The thie'f evidently was only after money or jewelry, as no other articles are missing. This is the second robbery at the same place with in three weeks. The Hot Ware to be Followed by a Cool Wave. . Testerday was one of the 'hottest days, of the season, the weather bureau reporting the minimum temperature at 76 and the maximum at 90 degrees. The forecast yesterday states that "condi tions favor; the . entrance of the cool wave over this locality tonight (last night), giving relief from the present hot wave," Showers with northerly winds, are forecasted for today.
