Mr. Alexander, near uhar lotte, lost his barn, stables, mules, and forage bv fire .la sr. . XJ Wednesday night. The burning of Mr. Warren's dwelling, the wrecking ot Jas. T. Joyner's dwelling and the David House gin house and cot ton by tire and Jightning in the past two weeks in Pitt county ought to make our people seek more security from such calam ities We were talking with Mr Jesse L. Sugg about fire insur ance yesterday and he told us that his companies paid out tens of thousands of dollars for losses by fire. Mr. Sugg also said that our people were get ting more and more business like about insuring their tobac co barns, pack houses, gin houses, barns,stables and dwell ings against loss by fire.
