declared Premier Lloyd George in his
speech this afternoon at Queeushall
replying to Michaelis' address.

HUGE CABBAGE HEAD IS
BROUGHT TO TOWS
One of the largest cabbages ever
seen in this vicinity was brought to
the office of the Daily News today by
Mr. A. K.McGowan, who lives just
across the river. It weighed twelve
pounds and was a thing of beauty in
the way of a cabbage. Mr. McGowan
says that he has numbers of them al
most as large and will sell them for a
very small price should anyone desire
to purchase.

IN TODAY'S PAPER
Owing to the delay in all the mails this after
noon, and inability to get the numbers over the
wires we can publish at this time only approxi
mately 1400 names of Pitt county men who were
first drawn out in the draft.
However, since there are only 336 to go from
this-county it is practically certain that all the
first draft will be secured from the numbers
which we hereby publish. Therefore, it is pret
ty, safe to say that no one whose name is not on
the list here published will be called at this time.
If your name cannot be found in this issue, you
will probably not be called this time.
As soon as the official list is received by the Lo
cal Board, the Daily News will publish the entire
list and the order of liability of every registered
man in the county.
If your name is on this list, you need take no
steps until you receive from the local Board of
Exemptions, notifying you when and where to
appear before them for examination.
If your name is not on the list, watch for the
issue of the Daily News which will publish the
whole list in the near future.

which poured steadily, dreamily, from
the pipes of a large and busy still yes
terday in the Black Jack section, when
the officers swooped down upon it and
put an end to its glorious, but short
and checkered acreer. The scene might
well be taken from the pages of the
dime novel. There was the still there
in the woods ; there was the juice run
ning into the barrels ; there was the
moonshine operator watching for of

progress this morning in the Krevo sector, says
dispatches from the battle front. The crack Si
