Only hitting practice, with (some of the boys tossing the balls over, was had during the afternoon on i account of cold weather. What looks to be the best prospects that a high school coach has had in recent years here turned out yester day. The mentor has experienced men for practically every post on the squad and will have plenty of reserve ma terial that he can push into the game any time the regulars start to ease up. Something very unusual, the high school has a real mound staff this year with several likely pitchers turn ing out. Garland Harris, last year’s (mainstay, is back again this year and w’th him is Inscoe, star pitcher for the American Legion Junior team last year. Both of these boys are right handers while Coach Powell has Bob by Green, Davis and “Lefty” Ayscuei for portside hurlers. There is plenty of material for other positions on. the team with many of the boys shoeing a great deal of improvement over last year, having played through the sum mer on one of the City League teams, ' * i ■ • * —'; ; *—3—— r —^: I B.
