PAGE SIX ' BO BOUND OVER 10 HIGHER COURT Luke Ball Held for Alleged Slaying of Sam Taylor Near Corbitts Luke Ball, Negro, wanted here by officers for several weeks in the fatal stabbing of Sam Taylor, was captured in Dinwiddie, Va., recently and was given a hearing this morn ing before Justice of the Peace J. S. Albright. Probable cause was found, and the Negro was hound over under a $2,000 bond, and he went to jail in default of same. It will go on public display at the Scoggin Chevrolet Co., at 8:00 a. m., immediately after tne breakfast which Mr. Scoggin is hold ing in honor of his organization. The breakfast is one of some 10,000 similar affairs being held throughout the country just before the new models go on view. It was arranged in acknowledgment of the unusual co operation displayed by Chevrolet deal er employes this past year. E. Clements and Marvin Coghill of Clements Motor Co., local Ford dealer, left for Detroit Thursday with some 140 Ford dealers from Virginia of SSO and costs. His license to drive was revoked for one year. George Williams, Negro, was fined $lO and costs of court when he was convicted of having whisky for sale. Reece Hight was brought into court on a capias under a judgment in a non support case of October 12, and was given two weeks to pay costs. and North Carolina, who with 7,000 others from all sections of the United States, will move into Detroit by spe cial trains this week-end for a two day gathering at the Ford Motor Company’s factory, the first assembly of its kind in the history of the Ford organization, for ad isplay of the forthcoming year’s models of the Ford V-8. They will be guests of the Ford Motor Company while in Detroit. Wives and members of the families will travel with the Ford dealers in this spectacular gathering at Detroit, which will last through Friday and Saturday, bringing every dealer in the country into personal contact with Henry Ford, creator of the gigantic industry that bears his name, and Erlsel his son, who is Pre sident of The Ford Motor Company. The high note of Friday’s Program will be the first view of the 1937 model of the Ford V-8. The dealers and their guests will be taken through the Rouge and Linden plants of the Ford Motor Company for their first view of the car that will be offered to the public shortly. This is the first time that Ford dealers have gathered at Detroit for an inspection of a new model. In the past the custom has been to assemble the dealers at the branch headquar ters in the region where they operate, but this yeaT the Ford Motor Com pany has had them assemble at De triot where Mr. Ford can deliver per sonally a message that will outline his views on the business that is gather ing top-notch speed. Outstanding in the ceremonies Friday, the opening day of the meeting, will be the pre sentation to Henry Ford of a huge old Cape Cod windmill, the gift of all the dealers in the United States. The windmill has been standing on Cape Cod for generations but is still in an excellent state of preservation. It has been placed in Greenfield Vil lage, the small city of original Amer ican builders and homes that Henry Ford has bought and assembled as a means of preserving living chapters out of old American history. The pur chase, dismantling, moving and re construction of the old windmill was made possible by contributions from the dealers and it will be an engag ing addition to the scenes in Green field Village.
