the American Legion Hall. There will
be some candidates for degrees, and
all members were urged to be present.
A discussion will be had relative to
moving back to the order’s hall the
first meeting in June.

Wed Elm City Girl
Announcement has been made of
the engagement of Miss Marie Daniels
of Elm City, to Ezra B. Daniel. The
wedding will take place in Elm City
Saturday afternoon, June 5, at four
o’clock.
The bride-elcct was a member of
Aurelean Springs school faculty this
year.
Mr. Daniel is the son of Mrs. W. B.
Daniel, Sr., and the late Mr. Daniel,
of this city and for the past few
months has made his home at Little
ton.

Be Had in Auditorium

Events of the commencement
of Henderson high school commence
ment will he resumed tomorrow even
ing with the school and award night,
to be in the auditorium of the school.
The first event of commencement
week was the baccalaureate sermon
last Sunday night by Dr. Charles E.
Brewer, president of Meredith Col
lege. Raleigh.
The school and awards night will
be followed on Thursday evening by
the senior class pageant, entitled
“Youth’s a drama of
graduation.
Medals and awards for distinguish
ed work during the year will be pre
sented Wednesday night, together
with numbers by the glee club and
the hand.
The final event of commencement
will be the graduation exercises Fri
day night, when diplomas will be pre
sented to 81 seniors. There will be no
outside speaker, but, instead, as in
several years past, six members of the
graduating class will give short
speeches on the general theme,
“Health, the First Objective of Edu
cation.” One or two awards to seniors
will likewise be made that night.
Music will also have a prominent part
in this program.
Miss Gary To Speak
On Girl Scout Camp
Girl Scout Troop 2 will meet Wed
resday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the
Scout Headquarters. All Scouts are
urged to be present as Miss Mariel
Gary will make a talk in regard to
the Scout Camp which will he held
at Balance Rock this summer.

Junior Chamber of Commerce last
night at 8 o’clock in the Kiwanis hall
in the Horner building.
