ROSE GETS FORFEIT
FROMTHEKIWANiS
Civic Club Failed to Bring
Enough Men; Lions And
Rose Play Monday
A scheduled softball game in the
city league yesterday ended just as
it was to begin.
Rose took a forfeit from the Ki
wanis team when the civic club took
the field without the necessary play
ers, and Bell, manager of Rose re
fused to permit Manager Daniel of
the Kiwanis to fill in the missing
posts. Bell was well within his rights
in doing so, since the rul*es «f the
league demand a full team, or the op
position takes a forfeit.
The Lions are scheduled to meet
the Underwriters, but it is doubtful
there will be a contest this afternoon.
The Underwriters folded up some
weeks ago, and have not been abte to
muster enough strength to play a
contest since that time.
Monday, Rose plays the Lions in
a game that wil lbe closely watched.
A win for either club will go a long
way toward deciding the winner of
second place, and a berth in the
playoff series. Wall Street is sche
duled to play the Gro-Swifts that
same day.
