Miss Lncile Rux And Graham V Boyd Wed The marriage of Miss Lucilc Curnn Rux. to Graham Venable Boyd, of Warrenton, took place in an after noon ceremony today at 4 o'clock, at Holy Innocents Episcopal church. The officiating minister was the Rev. B. N. deFoe Wagner, rector of Em manuel Episcopal church, in War renton. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Edwin Ferebee Shaw, organist, play ed Schubert's Serenade, Ave Maria, by Gounod, and Nocturne in E Flat, by Chopin. The Wedding March from Lohengrin was used as the proces sional. and Mendelssohn's Wedding March was the recessional. During the ceremony Mrs. Shaw played Liebestraum, by Liszt. Ushers were Richard Blair Boyd, of Durham, brother of the groom; Walker Burwcll. of Winston-Salem; Whit S. Peoples, of Palmer Springs, Va.: and Howard Field Jones, ol Warrenton. The bride entered with her brother, Lawrence Jackson Rux. by whom she was given in marriage. She wore a blue street dress with matching quilt ed jacket. Her white gloves were elbow length, and her other acces sories were black. She had a shoulder corsage of pink roses. I Mr. Boyd had as his best man his brother, Pettway Burwell Boyd, of Warrenton. Mrs. Rux, the bride's mother, wore a dress of black sheer, with black accessories. Her flowers were gar denias. The groom's mother. Mrs. Boyd, was dressed in black, and wore an orchid corsage. Immediately following the cere mony. the couple left on a wedding trip to an unannounced destination. I Upon their return they will be at ! home in Warrenton. Mrs. Boyd is the daughter of Mrs. Lawrence Jackson Rux, and the late Mr. Rux. She is a graduate of St. i Mary's School, in Raleigh. Mr. Boyrl, son of Mrs. Richard ; Blair Boyd and the late Mr. Boyd, ' of Warrenton, attended the Univer sity of North Carolina. He is now a buyer for the Export Tobacco Com ! W. club held its meet ing in the home of Mrs. Kerman Carter Friday evening with a good attendance, the meeting was presid ed over by the president, Mis. A. 1). Clayton. During the business session the club elected Mrs. Jesse Ellis as one on the program committee. Games and contests were enjoyed by every one, the prizes going to Mrs. Helen Mann and Mrs. A. D. Clayton. An interesting poem was read by Mrs. Arnold Carter after which de licious refreshments were served which consisted of iced drinks, cakes and nuts. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. E. A. Harper with Mrs. Helen Mann and Mrs. Jesse Ellis as hostesses. —Reported. Philathea Class Holds its Picnic The Shaw Philathea class of th" First Baptist church held its annual picnic at the King's Daughters park at six o'clock on a recent afternoon. A short business session was held before the supper. The class sang "Day Is Dying in the West", alter which Rev. E. Norfleet Gardner led in prayer. The president, Mrs. C. D. Allen, appointed a new nominating com mittee, composed of Mrs. E. 1J. Wil kinson, chairman, Mrs. \V. C. Stain back, Mrs. Cora Davis, and Mis. E. E. Kreidt.
