Bridget's, chairman of the Selective Service Board of Vance county, was the speaker at the re gular weekly meeting of the Rotary club Tuesdav evening at the Vance Hotel. J. R. Teaguc wa< in charge of the program, and presented the speaker. Mr. Bridget's t«>!d of the act. how it applies to Vance county, and said that approximately 50 men would be cailed from this county ,'n the l'iist draft. The cards are numbered, and as soon a.* the drawing is made in Washington, lie said, questionnaires will be sent to the men to be classi fied in four classes with the board determining the classifications. A draftee, the speaker continued, may protest his classification, with his protest in writing, and a hearing wiil be accorded him. Leo Giutcii. Allen, Negro 4-H club lumber of Vance county, placed fifth in statewide judging contests held recently in Greensboro, and the Vance county judging team placed third in the ranking of teams, in what U. E. Jones, Negro 4-H Ex lension specialist with headquarters at A. & T. College, described as "t!v imo-i successful 4-H judging contest ever held for Negro boys." Twen ty counties were represented in the contests. The boys judged corn, eggs and sweet potatoes. STORE ROBBERY IS SOLVED BY POLICE Ma.vnard Adams was charged in city court with aiding and abetting Jesse Jarrel' in iiie robbery of Chas. B. Ellington store on Breekenridge street last Sunday by keeping watch Adams was given two years on the roads, commitment not to issue for two years and be paroled to the su pervisor of the welfare office. The costs were stricken out. Max Moore, J. IJ. Gregory and Jesse Jarrell are others charged with the robbery, records at the desk ser geants office show. R. S.
