Frank Apple, pastor of the Congregational Christian church, preached on ihe topic "Losing Out" at the morning service yesterday, basing his sermon on the story of Ahab. "Ahab lost out because he failed to carry out the orders of God." the minister stated. "He chose to do his wav rather than do the will ol God. He was too busy with things of the world, and so he missed the supreme thing "There is an art to living. If we know this art, we will not be so busy as to crowd out things worth while. It is best to get on the right road and stick to it. then there will be no blank spaces or empty exper iences in life. "It is a terrible way to live to be too busy to take time to pray. It we so live that we keep God out 01 our lives today, where shall we spend tomorrow?” One's religion is not usually lost at a single blow, but little by little Ahab lost out after he had sinned much, so he paid with his life. We. too. will pay with our all if we are so busy as to forget to pray. ‘“Most of us are too much in a hurry to pray in the morning. Many are even 'oo busy with other things to go to church on Sunday. It will be sad to wake up some of these days and find the precious things gone lost forever.” Some Gains For Stocks New Y .. Si ; i'.. ! 1.— i A1 ’ >- A iittle -h i. State College The sweet potato is one of our best foods both from the standpoint of vitamins and energy. Sweet po tatoes, when eaten with butter and milk, furnish us with a fairly well balanced meal. With these facts in mind, it seems advisable that every family with suitable space should grow sweet potatoes or if growing space is not available, they should buy them from a grower and store for winter use. The advantage in buying them in the fall and storing is that yon get a better quality po tato at about one-fourth of what they cost next winter in small quan tities. It is easy to keep sweet potatoes if they are properly dug. handled, and stored. They should he dug be fore frost damages tht vine.-, hand led carefully, and eared at a tem perature o', tit) i ill) degret l'\ to.
