Iloycc was trying to find a difficult address in foggy London. A boy approached him and offered his services and when Mr. Bovee offered the boy a tip. he answered “No, Sir. i am a Scout. Scouts do not acc. pt tips for courtesies.” Mr. Boyce had never heard of ihe Boy Scouts and proceeded to gather all available information on the British organization. On February 8, 1910, Mr. Boyce and others interested in boys former- i iv incorporated the Boy Scouts of America. Today there stands a "Bronze Buffalo”—a large state in (lilwell Bark, England, with the following inscription: "To the unknown Scout whose faithfulness in the performance of the ‘Daily Good Turn’ brought the Scout movement to the United States of A merica ” —condensed from “Handbook for Boys.” Scouting started in Henderson some 20 years ago with one troop. To I day there are nine troops not to mention Cub Backs and Senior Scouting j organizations. Scouts from Henderson have gone into the Services, into industry, into professions, into business, and each one with “something extra” that came from the Boy Scouts of America This Space Contributed By E.
