Mrs. \\. \ . Swain
Ail estimated 100 acres of wood
land im the farm at Mrs \V. V.
Swain, mi the Dabney road, was
burned over in a five in mid-after
noon yesterday. Fire Chief Cooper
Ellis reported today.
The fire had already swept over
much of trtc woods when firemel*
were called, hut they stayed for sev
eral hours and kept the blaze con
fined to that area.
A grass lire at the home of Mrs.
C. B. Reav is. on Chavasse avenue,
called firemen at fi:.50 o'clock. A
garage caught fire from the grass,
but the flames were quickly extin
guished and no damage was report
ed.
