Joint Meeting to Be Held at Meck lenburg Hotel, Chase City, Va., July 13-14, and Excursion to Boston, July 16. The annual meeting of the North Carolina Press Association will be held on Friday and Saturday, July l.'Uh and 14th, at the Mecklenburg Hotel, Chase City, Va., in connection with the Virginia Press Association. Last .year the two associations met jointly for the first time, in Asheville, and were guests at Kenilworth Inn. So pleasant was this meeting and mingling together of the editors of these two sister States that the Vir ginians insisted that there should be a joint meeting again this year, on Virginia soil. An invitation was ex tended by Col. W. T. Hughes, presi dent of the Mecklenburg Hotel and Mineral Springs Company, who was present, for the convention to beheld at the Mecklenburg. The matter of time and place of meeting was left with the two executive committees, and the Mecklenburg was chosen at a joint meeting of the committees held in Richmond some time ago. No more delightful pjace could have been selected. The Mecklenburg makes a rate of $1.50 a day, which is a very low rate for this famous hotel. The itinerary will include a trip to Boston. From a circular letter sent out by Secretary Sherrill, of the North Carolina Press Association, we take the following: We will spend Sunday at the Mecklen burg, leaving there early Monday morn ing over the Southern for Norfolk, where at 0 o'clock p. m. we will take a special steamer of the Merchants' and Miners' Transportation Company for Boston. The trip to Boston by sea will be one that all will enjoy. We will have the boat, one of the best in the service, en tirely at our command, and none but our own party (which will include any friends any of our members wish to accompany them) will be allowed on the boat. Having our own party exclusively, the trip will be made extremely enjoyable. The rate per person from Norfolk to Boston and return via Providence, will be $1 ".r0. This includes berth and all meals en route. We will be on the boat two uights and a day each way. The trip going and returning will include ten meals and four nights' lodging. The price also includes railroad fare from Providence to Boston and return. We will leave Norfolk Monday, Jnly HJ. at 0 p. m., as stated. All of Tuesday will be spent on the boat. Will arriveat Providence early Wednesday morning. Breakfast will be served on the boat at H a. in., after which we will take early train for Boston. Time to Boston, one hour. We will not return in a body, as some will wish to remain longer than others, and some may wish to visit New York or other places before returning. The tickets will be good to return on any boat. Half fare will be made for children not over 12 years of age. Gentlemen: W'e want to donate some L A M. Paint to your church whenever you paint. The largest Methodist church in Georgia expected to use 100 gallons of the usual kind of paint, they only used 32 gallons L. 4 M. mixed with 24 gallons Linseed Oil. It costs less to paiut a house with L. A M. than with other paint, because painter mixes Linseed Oil fresh from the barrel et 60 cents a gallon with L. & M., and doesn't pay t 1.50 per gallon for Linseed Oil as done if ready-for-usf paint is used. Also because the L. & M. Zinc hardens the L. & M. White Lead and makes the paint wear like iron. Actual cost L. & M. about $1.20 per gallon. Sold by Melville Dorsey, Henderson, X". C.
