Jones Carnival Compa ny, after a week's stay in our city left Sunday evening for Wilson where they will spend a week. The attractions with this Carnival were first-class and did nof fail to pleasi the vast crowds in attend ance. The amusement was of a harmless nature, unlike that attending most Car nivals. This company holds a good rep utation and evidence of same was dem onstrated during their stay here. Mr. Jones is a genial, clever gentleman We also had the pleasure of meeting Prof, and Mrs. Lewis, Capt. and Mrs. Leon Marshall, and found them to be true ladies and gentlemen in every sense of the word. Mr. A. L. Morrell, promoter, spent sometime here before his company came and made a good impression on those who met him. Henderlite, Pastor cf Henderson Presbyterian Church, Resigns After Service of Five Years Accepts Call to Church in Fredricksburg, Va. Bev. J. H. Henderlite has resigned as pastor of the Henderson Presby terian church to accept a call to the Church in Fredericksburg, Ya. A broad er field und enlarged opportunities for service were the considerations which led Mr. Henderlite to decide upon the change. From a money consideration the church does not pay as much as the one he is leaving. At a congrational meeting Sunday morning the resignation of the pas tor was reluctantly accepted and a motion prevailed that the congrega tion unite with him in a request to Presbytery to dissolve the pastoral relation and dismiss him to the Pres bytery of Virginia. A called meet of Albemarle Presbytery was held in the church here a "J o'clock Tuesday afternoon when the relation which has existed between Bev. J. II. Hen derlite and the Henderson Presbyter ian church as pastor and people with perfect harmony, love tind satisfac tion for five years was officially terminated. Mr. Henderlite will preach next Sunday and will then go with his familr to Montreat to stay awhile taking his usual summer vacation to rest and recuperate before entering upon his new field of work about the middle of August. There is great and widespread re- trret that Mr. Henderlite is going to leave Henderson. He' is greatly be loved and extremely popular, nor is the affectionate regard and esteem in which he is held confined to his own confrresration by any means. A useful and valuable citizen his de parture will be a distinct loss to the town and community. And his excellent wife, equally be- Io7ed and as useful in her sphere of life in the church and society, will leave a vacancy quite as hard to fill. . . - - Vhen the baby is teething it is cross and restless; it becomes feverish, and in many cases vomits ajjreatdeal and oftentimes can not even keep cool water on the stomach.
