There are two causes for thia condition; bad habits and a weak stomach. By bad habits I mean eating irregularly and too fast and not chew ing the thoroughly. The stom ach gives out and loss of appetite, billiousness, constipation, and general debility result. First get the stomach in shape and then be more careful ~hs the future, and the Worn out, despond ent, half aick feeling will be a thing of the past. Two bottles of Cooper's New Dis covery will put the stomach in shape. Common sense will do the rest. There, are fifty thousand people in this country who know this to be true be* cause they've tried it. Here's a letter from one of them: "I was all run down from overwork, lost ambition and energy and could not sleep. It was difficult for me to attend to my work owing to that tired-, out feeling. I secured two bottles of the New Discovery medicine and de termined to try it. The result de lighted me for renewed strength and vigor and energy came wjth the first few doses. It's effect was .different" from anything I had ever taken. I finished the two bottle* now and feel well and strong again." E. McDade, 839 Dix Are., Detroit, Mich. Two or three ago there was a great row in the First Presbyterian church at Hunt ington Long Island, on account lof the volunteer choir, whjdh had I been conducting the praise part of the services there ever so many years without money and without price. The organist has been playing the organ in this church for thirty-six years for the pitiful sum of S2OO a year, and the cHbir, which is composed of three sopranos, three altos, three tenors, and one basso, has been singing, some of them for twenty years. There has bsen a good deal of talk about ihe music and a great many mean things have been said about the singing. The community appears to be a very gossip sort of neighborhood, and in the sewing saciety and other related organizations the choir was thoroughly disgusted. Naturally all that was said about the singers reached their ears, and on Sunday three weeks ago they resigned, because the Ses sion of the church had indicated ' that two anthems by the choir at one service were rather more than the congregation could stand, whereupon the choir re signed in a body, to be followed the Sunday after by the organist. When a particularly devout mem ber of the church was asked t.ie day after the services had been conducted without music "What is the church going to do for a choir now he replied I don't know and to speak the truth I don't give a d—n. —————— • ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGO ARGQARGO v , Examine carefully every one hundred dollar bill you get as counterfeit bills of this dominati on aro now in circulation. £ Argo Red Salmon is good en ough for.the tables of the rich, and cheap enough for the tables of the poor. - MOTHER GRAY'S SWEET POW DER 9 FOR CHILDREN. Mamie had a bright silver dol , lar given her. She asked her papa to change it into dimes. "What is that for dear?" he 'asked. "uO I can get the Lord's i part out of it." And when she got it into smaller coins she paid out one of the ten. "There! I . will keep that until Sunday." 1 When Sunday came, she went to the box of offering's in the church > vestibule and dropped in two dimes. "Why," said her fath er, as he heard the last one jin gle in, "I thought you gave ONE : TENTH to the Lord." I said one tenth belongs to him, and I can't . give him what is his own, so if I t give him anything I have to give him what is mine.—Selected. ■ 7 >? ; Ice, Ice, Ice. „ - Every family in Hickory should K use ice because it -is being sold , cheaper in Hickory than .in any i other city in North Carolina.
